People say “video bookmark” for three different jobs. Mixing them up is why search results for this phrase are mostly browser extensions that save a whole YouTube URL, or note apps that store a time code.

Saves the video. Watch Later, a playlist, a “save this link” extension. Fine when the whole upload is the point.
Timestamp bookmark
Saves where to start. YouTube’s share-at-time link does this. Playback then runs on.
Start-and-end bookmark
Saves the section. Start, finish, title, a place you can find it again. That is a Vimpse.
Where Vimpse fits
Vimpse is an Android video bookmark app for the third kind. You pick a YouTube URL or a video already on the phone, mark the start and the finish, give the moment a title, and put it on a Wall. Replay inside the app starts at your start and stops at your finish.
A Vimpse does not copy the YouTube video. It remembers the source and the part you chose. Phone videos are different: the app copies the file into private storage so replay still works if picker access later expires.
YouTube bookmarks, and the bit they miss

Vimpse is an Android app. Share a YouTube video into it, or paste the URL. Pick a file from the phone the same way. Google Play listing is coming; until then the site explains the product. There is no Vimpse account.

Sharing
Android’s share sheet. A YouTube Vimpse travels as a start-time link, because that is what YouTube accepts. A phone interval can be exported as a normal video of just that range. A Wall packs as a collection file another Vimpse install can import. There is no public web player yet. Google Drive sharing is not in the current app.
