The words
A Vimpse is one saved moment: a source video plus a start time and a finish time, with a title you can search. Several Vimpses sit on a Wall — a named two-column grid. The first Wall is free. Extra Walls are a Pro feature.
1. Find a video
Paste a YouTube URL, share a YouTube link or a phone video into Vimpse, or pick a file from the phone. Vimpse does not browse your whole library in the background. You choose the video.
2. Choose start and finish
Set a start and a finish — two sliders, typed times, or “set here” from the current playback position. Preview the Vimpse before you save it. Opening the same moment in the YouTube app starts at the same time but cannot enforce the finish — that stop is inside Vimpse’s player.
3. Save it to a Wall
Give it a title. Drop it on My Wall, or on a named Wall such as Car Fixes, Recipes, or Dad’s 60th. Tiles show a thumbnail, a duration for the saved section, and the title. Two tiles per row, on purpose — large enough to recognise, not a spreadsheet of timestamps.
4. Find it, play it, share it
Search titles. Filter favourites. Replay. Repeat. Share a YouTube Vimpse as a link, export the selected interval from a phone video, or share a whole Wall as a collection file another Vimpse install can import.
Google Drive is not in the current app. If it is added later, it will be described here and in the privacy policy before anyone is asked to sign in.
What stays on the phone
Walls, titles, notes, categories, time ranges and copied phone videos live in private app storage. Android cloud backup is off. There is no Vimpse account and no Vimpse cloud required for ordinary use. Details: Privacy Policy.
